Aurelion Sol: created cards into an early champion finish
Aurelion Sol · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14
Use free created spells to discount champions, then turn an immediate level-up into a decisive attack. Includes an accessible control alternative.
Build
Overview
Aurelion Sol turns created cards into champion discounts. At three stars,
Astral Radiance II reduces allied champion costs by 2 whenever you play a created card and levels champions when played. The plan is to spend your opening actions generating and playing cheap cards, then deploy your finisher before the enemy board takes over. Four stars adds
Breath of Light for a much larger board and a clear when the main champion arrives.
There are two ways to play him: a direct-discount approach and a spell-generation approach. Players disagree on which is more consistent; this guide uses spell generation. This is not a guaranteed first-turn win, especially when an adventure taxes repeated card plays.
The build
Starforged Gauntlets supplies starting mana while the champion qualifies as Titanic and expands the champion pool available through
Invoke and Manifest.
Spellweaver's Symphony supplies a free
Fleeting created spell when you gain the attack token. Playing it advances champion discounts.
Echoing Spirit adds champion copies and discounts champion spells, improving access to the payoff.
The build focuses on cheap creation before he arrives. A relic that only pays off after champions arrive helps less with getting the first large champion into play.
How to play
- Keep early creation and
Invoke access, such as
Behold the Infinite, and a champion payoff. - Play your free created spell before spending mana on the discounted champion. Check the new cost after each created-card play.
- Use the immediate level-up to establish a winning board. At four stars the main champion's entry also clears enemies, so avoid spending all your removal before you can deploy him.
- If the enemy survives, preserve enough mana and cards to repeat the engine rather than adding expensive cards that do not create anything.
Players disagree about drafting lots of extra champions versus focusing on him; pick a support package that contributes cheap creation or a useful payoff rather than assuming every champion improves the deck.
Automatic champion level-up is a play trigger, not a blanket effect on every summon. A champion brought directly onto the board by another effect does not receive it just for entering. This matters when testing summon-heavy relic alternatives. A created champion played from hand can contribute to both the creation discounts and the play-triggered level-up.
Alternatives and limits
Disciple of Shadows is the direct-discount option: allies reduce the champion's cost, but the play effect damages your other units. It suits openings with disposable bodies. Its weakness: this slot does little when you don't draw him.
For a rare-relic plan, use
The Deceiver's Crest,
Tempest Blade and
Crownguard Inheritance. That package turns the automatic level-up into a free champion spell, enemy
Stun and a
Rally. It still needs your deck and drafted powers to generate the cards that get your champions into play.
