Champion Fragments
Used for: Unlocking a champion (30) and stars 1–6. Only for that champion.
Get it: Cosmic Vaults (quests, Legend Levels, adventure rewards, Glory Store Platinum Vaults). A few 4.5★+ adventures give 40 of one champion. Extra Fragments for a maxed champion turn into Stardust (10 each).
Rune Shards
Used for: Crafting runes for Spirit Blossom champions' Rune Star: common 40, rare 120, legendary 580.
Get it: Runic Vessels (4 each, Glory Store), Spirit Blossom Chests, and spare runes (2 per common, 30 per rare).
Wild Fragments
Used for: Same as champion Fragments, for any champion except 
Aurelion Sol. You can hold 500.
Get it: Daily quest Victory! (5), easy adventures (The Bounty Hunter, The Wrath of Zaun), Diamond Vaults, Legend Levels 21–77, Glory Store (10 for 20 Glory, 5 a month).
Star Crystals
Used for: Stars 4 and 5 (plus some Spirit Blossom nodes). Region-locked.
Get it: Star Vessels: adventure rewards (see each region page), Glory Store (pick the region), one Gold Star Vessel per region at Legend Levels 52–79 and again at 82–97. Diamond Vaults sometimes add 10.
Nova Crystals
Used for: The 6th star. Region-locked. 100 Nova Shards of a region make 1 Nova Crystal.
Get it: Gold Star Vessels (Nova Shards, sometimes a whole crystal), Nova Crystal Vessels (Legend Levels 80 and 100, a few quests), and With Friends Like These... (one per region).
Gemstones
Used for: Celestial constellation nodes: 1,000 per champion. Region-locked.
Get it: Gemstone Vessels: Glory Store (Minor, pick the region, 6 a month), Emporium (Minor 1,500 / Major 15,000 Stardust, once a day each), Legend Level 74. Diamond Vaults sometimes add 150.
Stardust
Used for: Emporium: relics (common 300, rare 500), Gold Reliquary (3,000), 
Spirit Forge (100), Gemstone Vessels.
Get it: Spare relics (50 common, 100 rare, 300 epic) and spare Fragments (10 each), Star Vessels, adventure rewards, Glory Store (500 for 10 Glory).
Glory
Used for: The Glory Store.
Get it: The Glory Road: up to 900 a month from Challenge XP (Weekly Nightmares, Monthly Challenge, the Unbowed quest).
Odds per opening (from the wiki's container tables). Averages are worked out from those odds. Gold, Platinum and Diamond Vaults have duplicate protection, and Spirit Blossom Fragments never come from vaults.

One pick from that list, plus a bonus roll: 56% 2 Rune Shards, otherwise small Star Crystal, Gemstone or Nova Shard drops (20% nothing). Superior Chests roll bigger amounts.

Gold, Platinum and Diamond Vaults have duplicate protection. Vessels marked with a region give that region's currency; unmarked ones give a random region's.
Challenge XP fills the monthly Glory Road: 15 tiers of 60 Glory, so 900 Glory a month. Reaching tier 15 takes 1,690 Challenge XP, which needs almost everything: all Weekly Nightmares (180 a week), the Monthly Challenge (up to 1,000) and the weekly Unbowed quest (50). The road resets every month; Glory you've earned stays.
