Common Path of Champions questions. Every answer links to where it comes from, and all of them were re-checked against those sources on 13 October 2026 (patch 7.10).
How do I unlock a new champion?
With 30 of that champion's Fragments. Wild Fragments count too, except for 
Aurelion Sol. Each champion page shows where its Fragments drop.

How do adventure rewards work?
Each adventure has a fixed list of one-time rewards. Each one needs a clear with the right kind of champion: any champion, or one from a given region. Each champion can claim only one reward per adventure, so you need different champions to get them all. Once everything is claimed, further wins only give Champion XP. On each adventure page, press Log a clear after a win and pick your champion; the site assigns the reward the same way the game does.
If my champion fits a region slot, which reward does it claim?
Riot's support article says a champion that matches an empty region slot fills that slot first; otherwise it takes an "any champion" slot. Their example: clearing with 
Darius first claims the Noxus slot, then 
Annie (also Noxus) takes the "any" slot.
Can I farm a champion's Star Crystals by playing that champion?
Mostly not. Regional Star Vessels sit in reward slots that ask for champions from other regions, and a champion who matches one of the adventure's own region slots fills that first. Counting every adventure, only 15 of 68 champions can earn any of their own Star Crystal rewards by playing themselves (

How do I unlock Nightmare Adventures?
Finish the Face Your Fears quest: win any 3★ or harder adventure. It also gives a Nova Crystal Vessel. World Adventures unlock in a chain instead; each adventure page shows what unlocks it and what it leads to.

What are Wild Fragments, and is there a limit?
They work as Fragments for any champion except Aurelion Sol. You can hold 500; above that you keep what you have but don't earn more until you drop under 500. Spare Wild Fragments don't turn into Stardust.

What happens to Fragments for a champion that's already maxed?
They turn into Stardust at 10 Stardust per Fragment. Spare relics turn into Stardust too: 50 for a common, 100 for a rare and 300 for an epic.

Are Star Crystals, Nova Crystals and Gemstones shared between champions?
Only within a region: they upgrade champions whose constellation belongs to that region. 100 Nova Shards of a region combine into 1 Nova Crystal. See every source per region on the region pages.

How many resources does a champion need in total?
A standard champion with a constellation: 340 Fragments and 50 Star Crystals for stars, 1 Nova Crystal for the 6th star, 200 Fragments for the bonus stars and 1,000 Gemstones for the Celestial nodes. Spirit Blossom champions cost more. Each champion page has a calculator for what you still need.

What is Glory and how do I get it?
Glory buys items in the Glory Store. You earn it on the monthly Glory Road: 15 tiers of 60 Glory, up to 900 a month, filled by Challenge XP from Weekly Nightmares, the Monthly Challenge and the weekly Unbowed quest. The road resets monthly; earned Glory stays. Details on the Resources page.

Does the Monthly Challenge still give Star Vessels?
No. Since patch 6.8 it gives Challenge XP, which fills the Glory Road; you then buy vessels in the Glory Store, where you can pick the region.

How does the Monthly Challenge work?
70 short challenges (one or two boss fights each) that unlock three at a time. Each champion can be used up to 3 times, win or lose, so a wide roster helps. It unlocks at Legend Level 15 and resets every month.

When do weekly adventures reset, and what do they give?
Every Monday at 02:00 UTC (Sunday evening in the Americas). Each portal pays once a week: Starlight (Bronze Reliquary, from Legend Level 6), Shadow (Silver Vault, from level 10) and Dark Star (Silver Reliquary, from level 15). Weekly Nightmares (4.5★, 5.5★, 6.5★) give 40, 60 and 80 Challenge XP. Use the weekly checklist.

How high does Legend Level go, and is it worth it?
Up to 100. Past level 50 it hands out a Gold Star Vessel for every region (twice over), Diamond Vaults, a Major Gemstone Vessel at 74 and Nova Crystal Vessels at 80 and 100. Full list on the Resources page.

When do relic slots open?
A common slot at champion level 1, upgraded to rare at 8; a second at 13 (rare at 19); a third at 25 (rare at 30). A 
Spirit Forge upgrades a rare slot to epic; a 
Super Forge upgrades a common or rare slot.

How do I get epic relics?
From Gold Reliquaries: 3,000 Stardust in the Emporium, Legend Levels 40 and 50, and The Frost Witch's 5th reward. Each gives an epic relic plus a Spirit Forge. Signature relics come from champion bundles or the Glory Store (600 Glory). Browse them on the Relics page.

What's the cheapest way to level a champion?
Equip a 
Cosmic Blessing (5 Glory, or 300 Stardust in the Emporium): win an adventure with it and you get 5× the normal Champion XP. The Greater version gives 10×.

What is Defiance?
Added in patch 7.3: optional extra rules you pick before a run, each worth Defiance Points, for extra rewards. The weekly Unbowed quest (50 Challenge XP) needs a Weekly Nightmare win with 10+ Defiance.
