Rules and terms
Plain-language rules for using the site and publishing guides. Last updated 15 October 2026.
The site
Runeterra Guide is a free, non-commercial fan site for Legends of Runeterra: The Path of Champions, run by a private individual. It isn't connected to Riot Games, the League of Legends Wiki or the community sites it links to. Game data comes from the League of Legends Wiki and Riot's Data Dragon and may be out of date or wrong: everything is provided as it is, without any guarantee. See About for sources and Privacy for what is stored.
Publishing a guide
- It's yours. Publish only what you wrote yourself, or what you have the right to use; credit the posts, videos or sites your advice comes from.
- Licence. You publish your guide under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0): anyone, this site included, may show, copy and adapt it, as long as they credit you and share their version under the same licence. The site's "Edit a copy" button does this for you: the copy names your guide as its source. You can unpublish your guide whenever you like, but copies already made under the licence can stay.
- Keep it about the game. No hateful, harassing, sexual or violent content; no spam, ads or referral links; no cheats or exploits that break Riot's rules; no other people's personal data; don't pretend to be someone else.
- Checks. Guides with offensive language are refused automatically, and published guides are not reviewed beforehand. Anyone can report a guide.
Moderation
Moderators read reports and can hide or delete guides that break these rules, or that someone shows infringe their rights. A hidden guide can be restored if it was a mistake. To ask for a review, use the Report button on the guide and explain in the note.
Accounts
Accounts are optional and use passkeys (see My account). Keep the devices that hold your passkeys safe, and add a second passkey so losing one device doesn't lock you out. You can delete your account at any time; accounts used to break these rules may be removed. If you lose every passkey, the "Lost your passkey?" request on My account is checked by hand before a recovery link is sent.
Riot Games
Runeterra Guide was created under Riot Games' "Legal Jibber Jabber" policy using assets owned by Riot Games. Riot Games does not endorse or sponsor this project. Legends of Runeterra and all associated properties are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.
Other content
Text and data adapted from the League of Legends Wiki are available under CC BY-SA 3.0, like the wiki itself. Community builds, ratings and votes shown on champion pages come from Runeterra Relics and LoR Relics, with their permission, and link back to them. The site's own guides summarise players' advice in their own words and list the threads they're based on, and are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0 too. The fonts are Inter and Cinzel, under the SIL Open Font License (Inter, Cinzel).
Changes
These rules can change as the site does; the date at the top shows the latest version.
