Pyke: Lurk scaling and protected attackers
Pyke · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14
Build a
Lurk board, strengthen its entries and use the champion’s removal to clear priority targets.
Build
Overview
At six stars,
Pyke runs a follower-swarm plan built around
Stacked Deck and
The Beast Within.
Black Shield protects those attackers. The point is to win through large follower attacks; drawing and playing
Pyke himself is optional in many fights. Champion-centered Strike builds are a common alternative.
The build
The Beast Within
Power: Allies have
Overwhelm, and if they have a subtype, +1|+1.
Team
Overwhelm converts large units into Nexus damage through smaller blockers. Units with a subtype also receive the stated stat bonus.
Stacked Deck
+200 Starting Gold.
Power: Allies have +1|+1 for every 12 cards in your deck past 18 at game start.
The board gains stats from the number of cards in your starting deck. Drafting more useful cards strengthens later fights; cards added after game start are not automatically included in that count.
Black Shield
Power: When you summon an ally, grant it
Spellshield.
Team
Spellshield protects the board from one hostile spell or
Skill each. It gives setup time but must not be treated as permanent immunity after the shield is consumed.
How to play
Mulligan for cheap attackers or followers with free attacks. At six stars, a follower that
Lurk is summoned attacking, while other
Lurk cards are drawn. Favor a top card that supplies another attacker rather than another expensive champion. The constellation's grants must cover the cards you draft; six stars alone does not turn every equipment or
Landmark into a Lurker.
Attack consistently and build the wide board's stats over successive rounds.
Lurk can activate only once per round, so an extra attack in the same round does not give another
Lurk trigger. Use
Overwhelm to push damage through small blockers and preserve
Spellshield for enemy removal.
Death From Below remains useful when it removes a threatening unit and creates
Pyke. The champion-centered plan values this much more than the follower build does. Do not delay an otherwise winning follower attack solely to get the champion into play.
Drafting and alternatives
Buy strong followers to increase
Stacked Deck's starting-deck bonus, while avoiding purchases that make opening hands too expensive. The leading build advice cuts surplus spells and avoids
Landmark: drawing them from the sixth-star effect does not supply a free attacker. Keep
Bloodbait and play it after attacking to prepare the following round.
The third slot is flexible.
Deadly Harpoon supplies another champion-focused option, while
Stalker's Blade helps level
Pyke when he is summoned. Some players prefer two Strike relics, or
Echoing Spirit for repeated champion entries. Those choices increase champion/removal consistency at the cost of the follower swarm's protection or card mix. No build here guarantees a fixed turn win against every modifier.
Star-power checkpoint
Your spells Everywhere have
Lurk.
When a card
Lurk, if it's a follower, summon it attacking; otherwise, draw it.
