Ahri: Recall into repeated board wipes

Ahri · from community builds · 2026-10-18

Three Rare relics turn each replay into Gloom and board damage, with a fresh champion spell available each round.

At a glance

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Replay Ahri to weaken enemies with Gloom and damage the board. The Grand General's Counterplan supplies a new champion spell each round, so you can keep bringing her back after the opponent develops more units.

This three-Rare setup controls the enemy board rather than racing to double the champion's stats. It works around the two-star Recall discount and buff retention, with three stars adding Spirit on summon. The sixth-star Nexus strike is extra damage, rather than a requirement for the removal engine.

The build

Utmost Despair

Play grants enemies Gloom, reducing their Power and Health. Equip it above Wicked Harvest to apply the reduction before the damage trigger. Gloom is a stat reduction, so don't calculate this as an unconditional extra point of damage against every enemy.

Wicked Harvest

Play deals three damage to all other units. It spares the champion herself but also hits your followers. Recall and playing the champion again repeats the effect; copying or reviving her without playing her does not trigger either Play relic.

The Grand General's Counterplan

Round Start creates a Fleeting champion copy in hand. While the original champion remains on board, that copy becomes her champion spell and gives you another Recall. The relic needs her in play at Round Start; it doesn't supply a card immediately on her first entry.

How to play

Mulligan for Ahri and a way to bring her back. Let the enemy commit units before spending your entry damage when your Nexus can afford the wait. Passing gives you information, but an opponent who also passes can end the round, so don't leave a necessary removal play unused.

Keep the champion alive through Round Start to receive the Fleeting copy. Use its champion spell to Recall her, then replay her after the enemy rebuilds. Whispers From Past Lives discounts the returned unit and keeps its permanent buffs; it doesn't pay for the Recall spell itself. Reserve mana for both actions.

Keep her on board as a blocker if Recall her would expose the Nexus to an open attack. A cleared board and a safe defensive turn are worth more than using every Recall immediately. Once the board is stable, attack with the growing champion and any surviving allies.

Drafting and limits

Prioritize champion access, affordable Recall effects and cost reductions. Homecoming can remove a difficult enemy while returning an ally, but its mana cost makes it a larger commitment than a cheap champion spell. Choose defensive tools that let you reach your next Round Start when the opening draw misses the champion.

Avoid filling the board with fragile followers just before your own damage trigger. Large enemies may need multiple replays, while Tough changes the damage calculation. A low-cost champion does not make a repeated Play chain free: without extra reductions or refunds, you can run out of spell or unit mana.

This is particularly useful against boards of smaller units. It does not guarantee a clear against every boss or turn a revive into a board wipe.

A Husk-generating alternative

Replace The Grand General's Counterplan with Succubus's Brand when your hand already has enough Recall effects and you want kills to develop a new board. The damage relic can kill allied units as well as enemies, and kills credited to the champion can produce Husks. You give up the reliable Round Start copy, so check your remaining Recall supply before choosing this version.

Don't count every death from Gloom as a damage kill for the Husk trigger. The order and cause of death matter. Ravenous Hydra is another alternative in that third slot, but its Summon trigger and enemy-only damage differ from the two Play effects in the main build.
