Ambessa: safe attacks with Foil and Scissors

Ambessa · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14

Reach Titanic before Game Start, copy attacking followers and keep the champion safe through repeated attacks.

Build

Needs 6★Champion level 30

Overview

Combine an extra starting gem with attacks that keep the champion safe and duplicate a useful follower. Death's Foil and Spectral Scissors together bring her base five attack to eight, activating Starforged Gauntlets immediately.

It's the trio players back most in 10★ clears and guide builds. Unlike the Marauder spell engine, it protects the attacking champion directly and copies followers already in combat rather than relying on a particular drawn follower from a relic.

The build

Death's Foil

Gain +1 attack. While attacking, its carrier cannot take damage or die. That protection lasts through the attack, including damage that would remove Barrier, but does not protect her while she sits in the back row or against Recall.

Spectral Scissors

Gain +2 attack. Support a follower to grant it Ephemeral and summon an exact copy attacking. Put the desired follower immediately to the champion's right. It must be a follower, so this does not copy another champion. Check space for the extra attacker.

Starforged Gauntlets

The combined eight attack makes the champion Titanic at Game Start, gaining starting mana. With five-star mana and two-star starting mana you open on four gems, enough for her four-mana play. Level 30 and three Epic upgrades equip the trio.

How to play

Keep Ambessa and an affordable useful follower. A four-gem opening can deploy her immediately, but does not also pay for a follower unless you have further discounts. Choose between immediate pressure and building a stronger supported attack.

Rictus is a valuable copying target because each attacking copy can Stun a back-row enemy. Conscription helps expand a useful follower line before combat. Order the attackers carefully so Scissors supports the intended follower, then let repeated attacks grow same-name allies through the three-star power.

At six stars, check the entire attacking group's power against the ten-power threshold. It kills the strongest back-row enemy, not an enemy already blocking. The champion starts with eight attack and gains one from her attack power; one further permanent attack lets her meet ten alone on that attack. Foil keeps her safe through combat, but your other attackers can still die.

Drafting and alternatives

Prioritize cheap useful units, attack buffs and efficient protection between attacks. Enfeebling Strike weakens enemies damaged during combat. A support package that supplies more attackers can help repeated attacks, but don't count on a particular support champion or reward appearing every run.

The existing recurring-spell build supplies a different engine. Caulfield's Warhammer instead of Scissors retains enough base attack for Titanic but loses follower copies. Replacing either attack relic with something that gives no stats can turn off the Gauntlets, so recalculate Game Start attack before making a swap.

Star-power checkpoint

Six-star Out of my way! supplies the back-row kill used here, and five-star Manaflow is needed for the four-gem opening. Military Training II grows same-name allies on attack. Four-star Phalanx gives targeted allies Barrier, but Foil remains useful on attacks without a fresh Barrier and against damage that would consume it.
