Annie: Oath champions with double Star Gem
Annie · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14
Play
Annie early to draw a doubled-stat champion, then use two Star Gems to turn expensive champions into cheap finishers.
Build
Overview
Turn
Annie into a cheap way to deploy much larger champions.
Oath of the Guardians supplies leveled champions with doubled stats, and two
Star Gem copies make them cost four less while she stays on board. It's her most popular trio: one guide build and three player votes.
Unlike her repeatable burn guide, this plan wins primarily through champion bodies. Use her cheap removal and spell-and-Skill damage to keep those attackers alive. Players disagree about whether the package suits her better than dedicated burn; choose it when you want large units without waiting to grow her original followers.
The build
Oath of the Guardians
Playing
Annie shuffles five level-two champions into your deck, doubles their stats and draws one. At one mana she starts the engine early. The relic triggers on Play, so a summoned copy alone does not create another batch.
Two
Star Gem slots
Each copy gives allied champions +1|+1 and reduces their cost by two. Together they provide +2|+2 and four cost reduction; keep
Annie alive to retain that aura. Both slots must be equipped with a copy of the relic. Three rare-or-better slots unlock at level 30; upgrade one for the epic relic.
How to play
Keep
Annie in your opening hand. Play her before spending the rest of your unit mana, then inspect the champion you drew: its reduced cost determines whether you can develop it immediately or need to defend for a round. Choose attacks around the generated champion's own rules rather than assuming every doubled-stat body wins on arrival.
Keep
Disintegrate for the enemy that can kill your carry or push lethal damage. Pair its mark with real damage; damage prevention can still spoil a small hit. Your generated
Guile can buy an attacking or blocking window. Avoid trading
Annie away before you pay for another champion, because her death removes the cost reduction.
A second natural copy can restart the engine if she dies. Replaying her also adds more champions to draw, but check hand space and the enemy's removal before committing to another expensive unit.
Drafting and alternatives
Take draw and affordable removal to find the shuffled champions and protect the board you build. Champion cost reduction and durable champion bodies help more than filling the deck with expensive followers. On adventures that penalize created cards, check those penalties before relying on the generated champions.
If you want to win through spells instead, her other guide uses
Dreadway Chase Gun,
Luden's Tempest and
The Grand General's Counterplan. That exchanges the champion swarm for free burn spells and repeatable removal. Neither plan needs her six-star power to function.
Star-power checkpoint
Pyromania II adds two damage to your spells and
Skill at three stars. Use that bonus to clear blockers while the generated champions provide combat damage. Oath's doubled stats and the
Star Gem discounts come from the relics themselves; higher stars improve the surrounding deck rather than changing the engine.
