Ashe: repeatable Frostbite and controlled challenges

Ashe · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Refill spell mana, generate another champion spell each round, and use team Challenger to remove frozen threats.

Build

Needs 4★Champion level 30

Overview

The Grand General's Counterplan and Archangel's Staff are the agreed core on Ashe for repeatable Frostbite. This rare-only version adds Laurent Bladerack to control combat. It plays more slowly than a six-star entry-strike finish, but does not depend on the sixth star's hand buffs.

The build

The Grand General's Counterplan

Round Start creates a Fleeting champion copy. With Ashe on board, the copy becomes her champion spell, supplying another Flash Freeze each round. Protect Ashe so that generation continues.

Archangel's Staff

Round Start refills spell mana to help pay for those freezes. It supplies spell mana, not unit mana for developing the board.

Allies have Challenger. Pull frozen priority threats into favorable trades, especially with Rimefang Wolf, whose strike kills an enemy with zero power.

How to play

Use the round-start Frostbite to neutralize the strongest enemy, then keep Flash Freeze for another dangerous attacker or a target your wolf can remove. Avoid spending a freeze on an enemy already at zero unless the extra targeting has another useful effect.

Once Ashe is on board, the two round-start relics provide a repeatable freeze and its spell mana. Challenge key enemies with Rimefang Wolf; freeze first and check its target still has zero power when the strike resolves. A leveled Ashe prevents zero-power enemies from blocking, so freeze the remaining blockers before the finishing attack.

Drafting and alternatives

The third slot is flexible. Echoing Spirit increases champion access and discounts champion spells; Lost Chapter gives a one-time spell-mana refill on Play rather than the recurring refill of the staff. The Beast Within is a team Overwhelm alternative if your plan is wide attacks.

At six stars, Gift of Avarosa turns removed enemy power into buffs for allies in hand. That is a different upgrade-dependent finish; the four-star control package should not be evaluated as though those buffs already exist.

Star-power checkpoint

Treacherous Terrain

Each round, the first enemy summoned is Frostbite. This supplements the three-star round-start freeze and helps cover the opponent's development. This build assumes four stars; the sixth-star hand-buff power is optional.
