Azir: Oath champions with double Star Gem
Azir · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14
Share two champion-discount auras at six stars, then use Oath draws to turn the first champion into a chain of levelled threats.
Build
Overview
At six stars, champions already in your deck and hand inherit the main champion's relics. Each one you deploy can provide two
Star Gem auras and another
Oath of the Guardians trigger, drawing more discounted threats.
It's his most popular trio in guide builds and player votes. Compared with the Chosen by the Stars guide, it trades personal combat keywords for more champion creation and draw. You gain a larger supply of threats, but still need a way through blockers and enough hand and board space to use them.
The build
Oath of the Guardians
Play: shuffle five level-two champions into your deck, double their stats and draw a champion. It triggers when the relic carrier is played. Six-star sharing happens at Game Start, so champions created by Oath later in the battle do not inherit the shared relics. They are large threats, not more Oath-and-Gem carriers.
Two
Star Gem
Each gives allied champions +1|+1 and reduces their cost by two while its carrier is in play. Two Gems give a four-mana discount per active carrier. Before your first carrier enters play, that discount is not available; use starting mana or actual cost reduction to afford the opening champion.
Level 30 opens the third Rare slot. Oath requires one Epic upgrade; the two Gems are Rare and both copies remain in the build.
How to play
Keep an affordable initial champion and a useful second champion.
Azir costs three; his five-star starting-mana upgrade lets you pay for him without relying on an aura that is not active yet. A cheap support champion can also start the chain.
After each carrier is played, inspect the champion drawn by Oath. Play another original, relic-bearing champion when its cost and board space allow, then use the stacked discounts to deploy larger generated champions. At six stars,
Nasus and
Renekton start in your deck with shared relics, but must still be drawn.
Summons advance
Buried Sun Disc; restoration refills mana at three stars and replaces the deck. Oath champions still in the old deck can be lost to that replacement. Playing a relic-bearing champion afterward adds its new champions to the replacement deck. Do not spend every summon slot before deciding which carriers and finishers you need.
Drafting and alternatives
Prioritize cheap support champions, champion draw, useful champion items on the main champion and a way through enemy blockers. Shared items apply at Game Start to the eligible champions, not retrospectively to every unit you later create. The opening-draw item changed recently: don't count on one item drawing every champion.
Crownguard Inheritance instead of Oath turns eligible carriers' level-ups into Rallies.
The Beast Within supplies team
Overwhelm, and
Scales of Judgment offers Play-triggered strikes. Oath plus two Gems can function below six stars on a cheap champion, but this shared, multi-carrier version specifically needs the six-star upgrade.
Star-power checkpoint
Six-star
Shurima's Legacy adds the two Ascended champions and shares items with other champions in deck and hand at Game Start. Five-star
Emperor's Assault II improves starting mana and second-summon buffs. Three-star
Glory of the Sands II advances the Disc from units and
Landmark and refills mana on restoration. Created Oath champions miss the earlier sharing trigger.
