Bard: recurring champion spells and Chime scaling

Bard scales through Chime buffs and repeated champion spells. This spell-mana trio is a popular setup, and Echoing Spirit is the usual way to get more spells. This is a slower value plan rather than a promise of quick Nightmare clears.

The Grand General's Counterplan

The Round Start copy becomes a champion spell while your champion survives. Repeated casts activate Boon and plant future buffs, but also put more champion cards into the deck.

Archangel's Staff

Round Start spell-mana refill pays for the recurring spell while preserving regular mana for buffed units.

Echoing Spirit

Seven extra champion copies improve access, increase origin scaling from starting champion copies, and discount champion spells. This slot replaces the old six-gem duplicator for a benefit before six mana.

Plant Chime buffs and draw the cards they improve. At three stars an ally summoned with buffed stats receives random keywords; a unit played before it has been buffed does not automatically trigger that bonus. The recurring champion copy provides his buff-generating champion spell.

Spell-mana refill funds repeated casts, and the six-mana duplication relic improves spell output once active. Develop the buffed units and inspect their actual keywords before choosing an attack. Random Lifesteal or Elusive can be useful when acquired, but the loadout does not guarantee either.

Play units that have already gained stats in hand to receive the three-star random keywords. A buffing aura after entry should not be assumed to qualify every unit. Inspect the actual keywords before attacking; Lifesteal and Elusive are possible rather than guaranteed. Do not cast every recurring spell blindly when it dilutes the deck with champion copies without Boon.

Some players swap the mana staff for Corrupted Star Fragment to consume a supported ally for stats, keywords and safer attacks. If you lack the epic, The Chameleon's Necklace supplies fewer extra champion copies. The Beast Within / Frozen Tomb / Echoing Spirit gives two leveled bodies: a fun Monthly Challenge plan rather than a Nightmare build.

When you summon an ally with buffed stats, grant it two random keywords.
