Diana: Nightfall buffs into Double Attack

Diana · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Use a cheap enabling play, then Nightfall to build Double Attack and repeated champion buffs.

Build

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Diana wants Nightfall, repeated Pale Cascade casts and a way to give her Overwhelm. Older advice predates the newer relics; the Hidden Tome version here is the one players run today. It preserves the same plan: grow Diana, reach the keyword threshold and connect with Double Attack.

The build

Echoing Spirit

Game Start: Create 7 copies of me in deck. Champion Spells cost 1 less.

More champion copies improve access to the engine and its champion spell. Copies in hand become spells while the champion is on board; the spell discount makes repeated casts easier.

Chosen by the Stars

Fated, Augment
Empowered 10: Overwhelm, Regeneration, and Challenger.

Ally targeting and created-card plays build champion stats. Its ten-power threshold turns that scaling into combat reach and resilience; inspect the threshold before relying on those keywords.

Hidden Tome

Power: When you play or level up a champion, refill your spell mana.

The play and level-up refill enables spells on the turn you establish the champion. A summon without the relevant trigger does not automatically supply that refill.

How to play

Play an inexpensive card before Diana so Nightfall is active. At three stars units with Quick Attack receive Double Attack from their Nightfall trigger; the champion’s own spell is a repeatable way to strengthen her while building the card-play sequence.

The extra champion copies improve spell access, the mana refill supports the initial spell turn, and the scaling relic supplies combat keywords once its power threshold is met. Attack when the large Double Attack unit can connect; do not confuse Nightfall with simply playing the first card of a round.

Drafting and alternatives

The Grand General's Counterplan, Archangel's Staff and Troll King's Crown make an accessible rare-only spell package. The recurring copy supplies another Pale Cascade while Diana is on board, and the spell-mana refill helps fund it. Her level-15 upgrade adds a rare item to the strongest ally when that spell is played; it is a level reward, not an effect every new Diana starts with.

Overwhelm matters with Double Attack: damage can still reach the Nexus after the first strike kills the blocker. In this build, Chosen by the Stars provides it only at ten power. If you have not reached that threshold, do not evaluate the attack as though she already has it. Troll King's Crown supplies it without that threshold.

Some players prefer Corrupted Star Fragment to grow Diana from a supported ally; consuming an Overwhelm ally can also transfer that keyword. This trades away a body. Galeforce no longer Recall her: it shuffles her into the deck at Round End, so older repeat-every-round plays don't work the same way.

Star-power checkpoint

Outcast's Edge II

Allies have "Nightfall: Grant me +2|+0 and Quick Attack. If I already have Quick Attack, grant me Double Attack instead."
