Evelynn: a free opening champion through stacked Plunder

Evelynn · from community builds · 2026-10-18

Drain the enemy Nexus at Game Start, stack two Plunder discounts and spend the opening mana developing a Husk.

At a glance

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Bring Evelynn into play early by activating two Plunder discounts at Game Start. That leaves your opening unit mana available for a Husk-producing ally, so the champion can begin the level-up stat engine immediately when the hand cooperates.

This three-star approach gives up the usual level-up stun and Rally package for deployment speed. It is much more dependent on finding the champion in the opening hand: the relics don't add copies, and a late draw loses much of their immediate value.

The build

Swain's Raven Army

The Game Start Drain damages the enemy Nexus and activates Plunder for that round when the damage succeeds. Its spell-mana refill is restricted to its named champion, so this setup doesn't receive that refill.

Packed Powder

Plunder reduces the bearer by two mana. Its stat growth counts different rounds in which you've damaged the enemy Nexus; several hits in one round aren't several new stacks.

The Scourge's Stash

Another two-mana Plunder reduction completes the discount for the four-cost champion. Both cost reductions need successful Nexus damage in the current round. The opening Drain is not a permanent Plunder activation for the entire game.

The opening hand

Mulligan hard for the champion and an affordable Husk maker such as Sultur. Establish the Husk first when you can, then play the discounted champion so she can consume it and level. A free champion without a Husk doesn't automatically begin the same stat sequence.

Each allied champion level-up supplies the three-star buff to allies Everywhere. Develop around repeated useful level-ups, keeping the champion's own level-down condition in mind. Slay too many allies early can exhaust the opportunities to repeat that cycle.

If you miss the champion on the first round, play a defensive board instead of passing away resources waiting for a perfect draw. On later rounds, arrange fresh Nexus damage before expecting the same Plunder cost. The deck's ordinary Husk and keyword combat plan still matters once the initial discount window closes.

Draft around the missing control

Champion access, affordable bodies and protection improve the opening. You have no automatic level-up Stun or Rally from this trio, so draft answers for a dangerous enemy attack and don't spend the whole hand just because the champion is free.

Three stars supplies the repeated level-up team buff. The sixth-star Husk stat doubling is a separate improvement and isn't required for the listed discount. Its presence changes the size of your board, not whether Plunder was triggered that round.

Damage prevention can interrupt the opening, and an opponent can still remove the champion before you benefit from later attacks. Compare the actual hand with the control build when choosing a loadout for a difficult adventure.

Relic access and alternatives

The Scourge's Stash comes from the Rare pool, Packed Powder from Gold Reliquaries, and the Drain relic is available through its listed bundle/Glory Store sources. This version has two Epic slots, not three.

Replacing the Stash with Tempest Blade retains a two-mana Plunder discount and adds level-up Stun, but it no longer makes the opening champion free by these relics alone. Use that trade when surviving an enemy board matters more than spending all your opening mana on additional units.
