Hecarim: support copies and a growing Ephemeral attack

Hecarim attacks with Ephemeral allies and turns a supported follower into both a copy and permanent champion stats. This Spectral Scissors / Corrupted Star Fragment / The Beast Within trio is a good start for newer players. Newly summoned attackers come in awkwardly late, so prepare Ephemeral units before declaring combat.

Spectral Scissors

Support: If my supported ally is a follower, grant it Ephemeral and summon an exact copy of it attacking.

Corrupted Star Fragment

Support: Kill my supported ally and grant me its keywords and stats.

The support sacrifice converts a disposable ally into permanent champion stats and keywords. Put the intended sacrifice immediately right of the champion when attacking.

The Beast Within

Power: Allies have Overwhelm, and if they have a subtype, +1|+1.

Team Overwhelm converts large units into Nexus damage through smaller blockers. Units with a subtype also receive the stated stat bonus.

Develop expendable Ephemeral attackers to advance the level-up and star-power attack scaling. Equip Spectral Scissors before Corrupted Star Fragment so the supported follower is copied before the original is consumed. Choose the supported body deliberately.

The repeated Ephemeral attack grows the future attackers while the champion keeps the consumed stats. Team Overwhelm converts those bodies into damage through blockers. Blade Dance blades are not automatically Ephemeral units and their post-combat Obliterate does not count as a death; use units whose keywords actually match the plan.

Declare an attack with an Ephemeral ally already in the line to trigger three-star scaling. Him attacking alone doesn't qualify through the units he summons afterwards; don't count those delayed bodies as an earlier declaration trigger. Nor should you assume the power gives a separate growth grant per attacker.

Keep Onslaught of Shadows for an attack when possible, but use its bodies to block when survival requires it. On a budget, Guardian Angel with Corrupted Star Fragment is a recovery plan. Price of Retribution / Black Shield / The Beast Within is a deck-first alternative. Six-star attack-copying is a separate engine beyond this three-star setup.
