Jinx: activate plunder, empty the hand and burn the Nexus

Jinx · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Discount Jinx with early Nexus damage, then turn a full hand into discard triggers and removal spells.

Build

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Jinx converts both playing and discarding cards into damage. The classic build is two Plunder discounts plus her hand-conversion relic. Playing an inexpensive card first establishes Plunder; summoning the discounted champion empties the hand, levels her and replaces discarded cards with removal. For longer fights, a recurring-copy version also works.

The build

Packed Powder

Plunder: I cost 2 less.
I have +1|+1 for each different round you've damaged the enemy Nexus.

The first Plunder discount helps reach the zero-cost opening, and later damage rounds grow champion stats.

The Scourge's Stash

Plunder: I cost 2 less.

A second Plunder discount allows spending your mana on another early play without delaying the champion.

The Loose Cannon's Payload

When I'm summoned, discard your hand then create that many Pow-Pow in hand.

Discarding the hand triggers star-power damage, immediately meets the level-up condition and supplies removal spells.

How to play

Play a cheap card to trigger the star-power Nexus ping and establish Plunder. Check that both discounts are active before deploying Jinx. Her summon discards the remaining hand, so use any essential card before that point.

After leveling, use Pow-Pow to remove dangerous units and Super Mega Death Rocket! for Nexus damage. At four stars Sorcery supplies spell mana each round; it is not the three-star power. At six stars the spells and Skill deal double damage. Don't drop Jinx too early into a fight that benefits from your discards: sometimes prepare the finish before converting the hand.

Drafting and alternatives

Dreadway Chase Gun can replace a discount slot if you can afford a more expensive champion. Without the epic discount, its named rare alternative uses two copies of The Scourge's Stash. Those alternatives change the opening cost; do not assume every variation still plays her for free.

The Grand General's Counterplan can replace the second discount when you can afford a two-mana champion after the first Plunder reduction. While Jinx is alive, its copy supplies another champion spell; after removal, it can replace her. Players discuss replaying her for another hand conversion, but that requires mana and an actual replacement copy.

Echoing Spirit is another access option. These variants trade the free first champion play for later consistency; keep the exact cost reduction and hand size in view.

Star-power checkpoint

What's the Worst that Could Happen? II

When you play or discard a card, deal 1 to enemy Nexus and 1 to a random enemy.
