Kai’Sa: protected Hex Core keyword engine
Kai'Sa · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14
Spread useful keywords through
Second Skin, protect your early units and grow the champion with created targeting spells.
Build
Overview
Perfect Hex Core supplies a new targeting spell every round,
Black Shield protects summoned allies, and
Chosen by the Stars puts growth keywords on the champion. At six stars,
Second Skin lets an early ally borrow her keywords before she reaches the board.
Players explicitly recommend this exact trio. It's her highest-voted player build, while the existing Scout guide starts with a more fixed keyword package. Here you build and share the keyword pool through repeated spells.
The build
Perfect Hex Core
At Round Start, creates a
Fleeting
Hex Core Upgrade with Burst and the ability to target any ally. Use it to add keywords to a useful early unit, then bring those keywords into the champion’s pool with
Second Skin. You do not need the main champion in play to receive this relic’s generated spell.
Black Shield
Grants
Spellshield when an ally is summoned. The shield can absorb a targeted enemy spell or
Skill, but it is consumed; the relic does not automatically refresh it every round on the same surviving unit.
Chosen by the Stars
Grants
Fated and
Augment. At ten Power, the carrier has
Challenger,
Overwhelm and
Regeneration. Created targeting spells can help trigger both growth keywords once the champion is present, with
Fated limited to its first targeting each round.
Level 30 and three Epic slot upgrades equip the trio.
How to play
Keep an affordable unit or support champion, plus useful defense. Start adding keywords with
Hex Core Upgrade while spending the generated
Second Skin on a unit whose keywords you want to retain on
Kai'Sa Everywhere.
At six stars, that targeted ally also receives the champion’s keywords for the round. This outward sharing is part of the six-star power, not the ordinary spell alone. Use it on a unit that can attack usefully or survive a critical block. When she later enters play, the champion can finish with her accumulated keywords and attack
Skill.
The support-champion upgrade gives
Hunter's Machete, providing
Scout to copy; unlock it separately rather than assuming every support package has
Scout. A lone
Scout attack can create another attack opportunity. Track
Evolve’s actual keyword count: random upgrades and your opening units determine how quickly you reach it.
Drafting and alternatives
Prioritize cheap units with distinct useful keywords, protection, champion discounts and affordable draw. Duplicating a keyword you already have contributes less to
Evolve than expanding the pool. More board access also gives you more meaningful targets for the two generated spells.
Full Build supplies a fixed combat-keyword set, while
Dreams Of Yordles and
Galeforce define the existing smaller-body
Scout build.
Galeforce shuffles the champion into the deck at Round End, so that alternative needs draw or another copy if the first attacks do not finish.
Star-power checkpoint
Six-star
Wield The Abyss creates
Second Skin every Round Start and gives its targeted ally the champion’s keywords for that round. Five-star
Voidtouched II supplies the upgraded starting mana and keyword-based stat thresholds; its +2 starting mana replaces the two-star +1 rather than stacking for four opening mana. Three-star
From Prey To Predator II grants a random positive keyword every Round Start. The outward-sharing plan here requires six stars.
