Kayle: buffed draws into a sweeping entry

Kayle · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Grow units before playing them, amplify buffs and use the high-power entry effect to clear threats.

Build

Needs 6★Champion level 30

Overview

Secret Technique is the key relic for Kayle. Pair it with Starfire Spellblade and Hymn of Valor: starting mana helps the slow opener, while an amplified buff grows both the board target and another unit in hand. Six stars adds the sweeping played-unit payoff.

The build

Starfire Spellblade

Kayle gets extra starting mana, helping the early turns before she arrives. The relic also increases her Attack Power with encounters won. It does not generate buff spells; those come from her star power and deck.

Secret Technique

Spell-granted stats increase further. With the third-star sharing effect, a large buff to an ally in play also prepares a random ally in hand, or the top ally of the deck when none is held.

Hymn of Valor

Summoning the champion supplies Redoubled Valor at a reduced cost. Bank enough spell mana to cast it on a useful protected ally. The doubling spell and stat amplifier are the main scaling payoff.

How to play

Keep an early ally and useful buffs, with another ally in hand to receive the three-star stat sharing. Use Blessing of Targon from the round-start power to establish the first sturdy attacker; do not wait for Kayle while the opponent develops a lethal board.

Buff a unit in play, then inspect the unit that received the shared stats before choosing your next play. At six stars a played high-Power champion can Strike all enemies, while a qualifying follower supplies the smaller damage effect. Her own level-up still checks her Power at Round Start.

When the champion is summoned, use the generated doubling spell on the ally that can best survive and connect. The starting-mana signature does not itself create that spell. Repeated buffs improve the board and the held-unit payoff, but an aura's displayed bonus is not automatically a new shared stat grant.

Drafting and alternatives

Black Shield protects the buff investment; Hidden Tome or Lost Chapter funds spells when the champion is played. A support-champion plan also works, using global spell buffs before Kayle arrives.

Chemtech Duplicator can replace a slot for larger later buff turns, but needs the champion in play and its mana threshold. Powercuties warns that sacrificing early mana for more scaling can make the opener fragile.

The Beast Within gives team Overwhelm, but its aura isn't a stat grant, so it doesn't trigger the three-star sharing. Do not count that aura as an extra shared buff every time a unit appears.

Star-power checkpoint

Day of Judgement

When you play a 5+ power ally, it deals 3 to all enemies. If it's a 10+ power Champion, it strikes all enemies instead.
