Lee Sin: double the buff and kick through blockers

Lee Sin · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Survive to six mana gems, double a large attacker with copied buff spells, then finish with a leveled kick and Overwhelm.

Build

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Lee Sin can finish once leveled and heavily buffed; surviving his opening is the hard part. The usual build is Hymn of Valor / Chemtech Duplicator / Troll King's Crown. This is a six-gem spell payoff; it needs drafted mana or cheap spells to reach that point safely.

The build

Hymn of Valor

Summoning the champion creates a three-cost Redoubled Valor. Use it after the second-spell buff when possible to double a larger starting stat total.

Chemtech Duplicator

At six mana gems, spells are copied with the same targets. Two doubling casts compound stats, while copied spells help activate the champion and second-spell power. Before six gems it contributes nothing to your opening.

Troll King's Crown

Team Overwhelm makes the kick plan connect after its blocker is displaced, and lets another buffed ally finish when the champion cannot attack. It does not protect against removal or Frostbite.

How to play

Draft and keep early blockers plus cheap spells. Play spells twice in a round to activate Challenger, then Barrier, and give the strongest ally +8|+8 through the three-star power. Check which ally is strongest. Plan the doubling spell after the buff rather than assuming it will always apply to the champion.

Once leveled, challenge a target that the kick can remove. The kick pressures the Nexus, and Overwhelm lets the ordinary attack continue through the displaced blocker. Count remaining health, damage protection and enemy interaction before committing; published high-stat anecdotes are not guaranteed opening damage.

Drafting and alternatives

To improve the opening, look for Sorcery, Spellslinger, Wild Inspiration or recurring cheap spells. A large finisher alone does not solve expensive early spell casts.

A budget alternative uses The Grand General's Counterplan for recurring two-part champion spells, with a mana refill and Overwhelm. Some players use Secret Technique in place of the Overwhelm slot for larger spell buffs, but that plan is slower and depends more on your draft. Older sources checked against current relic and reward text; no universal turn-two clear claimed.

Star-power checkpoint

Dragon's Spirit II

When you play your second spell in a round, give your strongest ally +8|+8 this round.
