Lux: duplicate expensive spells into removal and rallies

Lux · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Build toward six mana gems, copy spells, then convert spell expenditure into repeated attacks.

Build

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Lux turns spell spending into free rallies. Players recommend reaching the spell-duplication threshold first, then using repeated removal and rallies. This build is rare-only: spell-mana refill, spell duplication and repeatable hard removal. It is for the original champion.

The build

Archangel's Staff

Round Start: Refill your spell mana.

The repeated spell-mana refill funds removal while you build toward the duplication threshold.

Chemtech Duplicator

When you play a spell, if you have 6+ mana gems, copy it with the same targets.

At six mana gems, spells are copied with the same targets, increasing spell output and the associated payoffs.

Arcane Comet

Round Start: Create a Fleeting Falling Comet in hand.

A recurring high-cost removal spell gives a reliable way to spend enough mana while answering a large threat.

How to play

Develop an early unit and preserve mana for your first spell of the round. Succession develops a body while the three-star power refunds the mana you spend on that first spell. Remembrance is another starting-deck spell that spends toward the spell engine.

Once you have six mana gems and Lux is in play, use the generated Falling Comet for a large threat and let the duplicated spell produce additional output. Use Golden Aegis when your board can attack, then repeat the spell-and-attack cycle. Check actual spell expenditure and current mana; a discounted spell is not automatically six mana of spending.

Drafting and alternatives

Another rare-only version runs Chemtech Duplicator, Archangel's Staff and Arcane Comet. An early Plunder-discount version uses Packed Powder, but relying on the fourth-star Nexus ping depends on the adventure. That faster opening is not required here.

Arcane Comet with Chemtech Duplicator gives a reliable recurring large spell. Copies use the same targets, so a removed target does not turn the second cast into flexible removal for another enemy. Keep board development and hand space in mind while generating more rallies and spells.

Faster Plunder openings or extra mana from a Barrier-focused relic are popular now, but infinite sequences need additional powers. This rare control package doesn't count on those rewards, or on the first ping getting through to a protected enemy Nexus.

Star-power checkpoint

Lighting the Way II

Each round, the first time you spend mana to play a spell, refill mana equal to its cost.
