Master Yi: Flow spells and repeated champion buffs

Master Yi · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Use cheap non-Fleeting spells to generate ally buffs, maintain Flow and grow the champion into a combat payoff.

Build

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Master Yi uses Wuju Style to target allies, redraw champions and build combat stats. This epic trio is a popular pick. At level 18 he gains a champion-draw reward.

The build

Chosen by the Stars

Fated, Augment
Empowered 10: Overwhelm, Regeneration, and Challenger.

Ally targeting and created-card plays build champion stats. Its ten-power threshold turns that scaling into combat reach and resilience; inspect the threshold before relying on those keywords.

Echoing Spirit

Game Start: Create 7 copies of me in deck. Champion Spells cost 1 less.

More champion copies improve access to the engine and its champion spell. Copies in hand become spells while the champion is on board; the spell discount makes repeated casts easier.

Secret Technique

Power: When an ally gains stats from a spell, it gains twice that many instead.

Buff spells provide a larger stat payoff. The value is in repeatedly casting the ally buffs used by this plan, rather than merely equipping it on a large champion.

How to play

Reach level eighteen for Hero's Horn on Wuju Style, then establish Master Yi with another copy in hand. Its champion spell costs one before the Echoing Spirit discount. Casting it redraws a champion; another copy becomes another spell while he remains alive. Drawing the support champion can interrupt the sequence.

Target your attacker for spell buffs and Fated; playing the created spell also triggers Augment. Secret Technique doubles spell stat gains. Use generated Twin Disciplines before its Fleeting window closes, and confirm ten Power before relying on Empowered from Chosen by the Stars. Flow needs two spells or Skill in the previous round and gives the strongest ally Elusive next round through the two-star power.

Drafting and alternatives

Prioritize affordable spells and a compact champion pool. The redraw engine depends on what remains in the deck and available hand space; enemy cost increases or disruption can stop it. Players disagree about needing Overwhelm when next-round Elusive is available. This loadout supplies eventual Overwhelm for attacks on the round you play him.

A budget option is The Grand General's Counterplan / Archangel's Staff / Lost Chapter: recurring champion spells, round-by-round mana and an initial Play refill. It is slower without the discount; direct summons do not trigger the current chapter.

Star-power checkpoint

Mind and Body II

When you play a non-Fleeting spell or Skill, create a 1 cost Fleeting Twin Disciplines in hand.
Round Start: Flow: Grant allies +1|+1.
