Norra: full-board portals into champion strikes

Norra · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14

Fill the board so portal champions arrive in hand for free, then play them to refill spell mana and strike enemies.

Build

Needs 6★Champion level 30

Overview

At six stars, portals generate leveled champions. Fill all six board spaces so later portal arrivals overflow into your hand as zero-cost champions, then play those champions for Scales of Judgment strikes and Hidden Tome refills. Echoing Spirit helps you draw Norra and cast more champion spells.

It's her most popular trio in guide builds, 10★ clears and player votes. Her existing guide uses deck-size stats instead of Scales. Choose this version when repeated free champion plays can control the enemy board; an individual strike may still need help against very large units.

The build

Echoing Spirit

Seven extra champion copies improve access to the champion and, once she is in play, her champion spell. Its one-mana champion-spell discount helps repeat Portalpalooza. More copies are useful, but a full hand can burn the portal champions you need.

Hidden Tome

Playing or leveling a champion refills your spell mana. Use the zero-cost champions that arrive in hand to pay for more useful spells after spending that mana. This is not an unconditional refill from every ally summon, and it does not refill all your unit mana.

Scales of Judgment

Whenever you play a champion, it strikes the weakest enemy. The Power applies to the portal champions you actually play from hand; a portal summoning directly onto an open board does not trigger this Play effect. The extra strongest-enemy strike is restricted to Nasus. All three relics need epic upgrades after level 30 opens the last Rare slot.

How to play

Keep Norra and early ways to generate portals. Develop enough units to fill the board, then use her champion spell to plant more portals and draw through them. Cast an ordinary Portalpalooza when useful, but remember that Echoing's discount is specifically for the champion-spell version.

Keep hand space open before drawing portal cards. When a champion overflows into hand at zero cost, spend useful spell mana first, then play it and replace the least useful board unit. Protect your main champion when you still need drawn copies to become champion spells. The new champion strikes an enemy and the Tome refill supports another spell.

Repeat while you have portal draws, champions and mana. Do not call the sequence infinite just because one champion was free: portal placement and your next draws can interrupt it. Against a large enemy, several strikes may be needed; keep a Stun or a strong blocker rather than replacing the whole board with fragile bodies.

Drafting and alternatives

Early summoned units help fill the board, and spell-cost reduction improves the portal-spell sequence. Sorcery helps the first few rounds before free champion plays sustain the refills. Trifarian Might provides another strike when sufficiently large allies are summoned.

Avoid draw you cannot safely fit in hand. Cheap spells that spend cards while controlling the enemy are often more useful than more followers after the board is full. The existing Stacked Deck version trades the Play strikes for larger units. Corrupted Star Fragment is another way to consolidate stats, but consuming a unit opens a board space and can interrupt the overflow phase you are trying to maintain.

Star-power checkpoint

Surprise Summoning changes portals into level-two champion generators at six stars. That is the requirement for this champion-play loop; three-star follower portals do not supply the same Scales targets. Six Sugars gives created allies +3|+1 on summon, helping their strikes and combat once you deploy them.
