Sett: Coin spending into buffs and rallies

Sett · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Refill mana with Coins, spend it again and turn the round’s cumulative spending into board buffs and a Rally.

Build

Needs 6★Champion level 30

Overview

Sett turns Coin refills into more mana spent, board buffs and Rally. This six-star spell build uses recurring champion spells and replenished spell mana to sustain spending once you reach six mana gems. This rare-relic caster setup is a popular pick, next to faster ramp options. Surviving the opening is still essential.

The build

Chemtech Duplicator

At six mana gems, spells are copied with the same targets. Copied Coin refills allow more spending; copied control spells help keep the board safe. Six mana spent this round does not activate the relic unless you also have six gems.

The Grand General's Counterplan

Provides a Fleeting champion copy each Round Start. While Sett is on board, it becomes his champion spell; if he is removed, it can replace him. Reserve enough mana to use it.

Archangel's Staff

Refills spell mana each Round Start, helping the recurring champion-spell plan. Spend useful mana before the next refill rather than wasting it.

How to play

Mulligan for early bodies and cards that supply Coin. Develop enough blockers to reach the duplication threshold. At six stars, playing a Coin with five or more stacks summons Sett; that is separate from the three-star mana-spent triggers.

After duplication activates, interleave refills with useful spells and unit plays. Track total mana spent this round: the three-star team buff triggers after six, and Rally after twelve. Restore board presence before taking another attack. Do not spend every refill just to increase the counter when you still need removal or a blocker.

Drafting and alternatives

Draw, early defense and cheap Coin generation help the engine reach its payoff. Overwhelm makes a large buffed board easier to convert into damage.

The ramp alternative uses Starforged Gauntlets, Luminous Orb and Chemtech Duplicator. The Health bonus is needed for Titanic qualification; the extra starting mana is conditional. Some players instead use Portal Pals for discounted large units. Regeneration is a preference, not a required engine component: replacement champion copies and team buffs provide other ways to recover.

Star-power checkpoint

Knuckle Up II

After you spend 6+ mana each round, grant allies +2|+2.
After you spend 12+ mana each round, Rally.

Hired Muscle

At six stars, playing a Coin with at least five stacks summons the champion, or creates his special spell if he is already present. This requires a single stacked Coin play, not five separate one-stack Coin plays.
