Spirit Blossom Ahri: Formidable foxes and spell-created boards

Spirit Blossom Ahri · from r/LegendsOfRuneterra · 2026-10-14

Create foxes with spells, add health with the rune and let Formidable turn that health into attack power.

Build

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Spirit Blossom Ahri turns spell-created foxes into attackers whose health matters through Formidable. Spirit Armor with Strength of Stone is the popular rune pairing. Others prefer a death-damage rune, so this is one supported plan rather than settled consensus.

The build

The Beast Within

Power: Allies have Overwhelm, and if they have a subtype, +1|+1.

Team Overwhelm converts large units into Nexus damage through smaller blockers. Units with a subtype also receive the stated stat bonus.

Black Shield

Power: When you summon an ally, grant it Spellshield.

Team Spellshield protects the board from one hostile spell or Skill each. It gives setup time but must not be treated as permanent immunity after the shield is consumed.

Strength of Stone

+0|+2
Power: When you summon an ally, grant it +0|+1 and Formidable.

Spirit Armor

When you summon an ally, grant it +0|+3.

It goes in the separate Rune Star slot.

How to play

Play spells that cost at least one to summon Fox-Fire with stats based on the spell cost at three stars. The health rune increases allied health, and the Formidable relic lets that health supply combat power. The team keyword relic helps the created board connect through blockers.

At six stars allied deaths refill mana, which changes how you can sequence spells and expendable foxes. Before then, avoid spending the full hand just to fill the board. Spellshield protects the early foxes and champion from one enemy effect, not every later removal.

Drafting and alternatives

Choose useful spells that still cost at least one when played to create Fox-Fire. Zero-cost spells do not trigger the three-star fox power. Preserve health on Formidable attackers: damage reduces striking strength until healed. This rune grants +0|+3 to every summoned ally, rather than only Ephemeral allies.

Phantom Pranks is a different death-damage plan that stacks with the fourth-star Phantom Pranks. It abandons the health-rune bonus. The Beast Within gives team Overwhelm; Spirit of the Buhru is an option with narrower one-cost coverage. Enemy-death damage does not trigger just because your own foxes die.

Star-power checkpoint

Lingering Essence II

When you play a spell that costs 1 or more, summon a Fox-Fire with stats equal to the cost of the spell.
