Diana · from community builds · 2026-10-18

Generate a champion spell each round, refill spell mana and send Double Attack damage through blockers.

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Keep Diana alive across rounds, use the recurring Pale Cascade to draw and buff, and turn Double Attack into Nexus damage with team Overwhelm. All three relics are Rare, so this is an option when the Epic spell-growth build isn't available.

Three stars provides the Nightfall upgrade that grants Double Attack to a unit already carrying Quick Attack. The setup favors a repeatable attack over putting every resource into one opening hit. It still needs the champion, Nightfall sequencing and enough protection to reach the next round.

The build

The Grand General's Counterplan

Round Start creates a Fleeting champion copy. While the champion remains in play, that becomes the champion spell. It doesn't create a spell immediately when you first play her.

Archangel's Staff

Round Start refills spell mana, making the recurring spell easier to cast without consuming all your unit mana. It doesn't refill unit mana or pay for the initial champion play.

Troll King's Crown

Allies have Overwhelm while the bearer is in play. Double Attack can then continue dealing Nexus damage through a dead or small blocker, rather than spending its extra strike on a blocked lane with no damage getting through.

How to play

Mulligan for the champion and an affordable first card. Play that enabler before the champion to activate Nightfall. The two-star power refunds one mana for your first card each round; it doesn't make every later card a refund.

Leave the champion alive through Round Start to receive the Fleeting spell and spell mana. Play another card before Pale Cascade when you want its Nightfall draw. At level fifteen its item grants a Rare item to the strongest ally, so check which unit is strongest before assuming the item will land on the champion.

Use her challenge to take a favorable blocker while the rest of the Overwhelm board attacks. Keep enough mana for a defensive response when the opponent can remove her before combat. Losing the bearer also removes the Crown's aura, so don't calculate the whole attack as permanently having Overwhelm.

Drafting and defense

Prioritize cheap enablers, useful champion items and protection. A lower spell cost makes the recurring draw easier to sustain, but the build doesn't automatically become infinite: one Round Start copy still supplies one card, and you can run out of draw or legal plays.

Take health or protection when repeated attacks leave the champion Vulnerable. Quick Attack and Double Attack help on offense; they don't protect an ordinary block on the opponent's turn. It's often better to keep a cheap defender than to spend every follower simply activating Nightfall.

Getting the relics and upgrading

The Grand General's Counterplan is the reward from Vi's two-star campaign. The other two relics are in the Rare reward pool, including Silver Reliquaries and the higher vaults listed on their relic pages.

Once you own Echoing Spirit and Chosen by the Stars, the Epic build offers a different way to supply spells and grow one attacker. Keep this recurring-spell version when you prefer predictable Round Start resources or don't have those relics yet.
