Hecarim: Glaive, protected attacks and team Overwhelm

Hecarim · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14

Start with an extra mana gem and a Shark Chariot, then use six-star free attacks to grow an Overwhelm army.

Build

Needs 6★Champion level 30

Overview

Build around the whole Ephemeral army rather than waiting for Hecarim to become your only attacker. Hecarim's Glaive adds starting mana and an opening Shark Chariot; The Beast Within makes your attackers push damage through blockers. Death's Foil protects the equipped champion during his attacks.

It's his most popular trio in guide builds and 10★ clears. His support-copy guide consumes and copies a supported ally. This version keeps its relic benefits focused on extra attacks, team damage and a champion that can survive combat.

The build

Hecarim's Glaive

On this champion it grants +1 starting mana; its Game Start Power also summons a Shark Chariot. Quick Attack helps the equipped champion in combat. The extra mana gives you more room to develop a unit or cast the recurring Ephemeral spell before the enemy Overwhelm your blockers.

Death's Foil

The equipped champion gains one attack and cannot take damage or die while attacking. A six-star attacking copy of that champion benefits too. This protection applies during attacks, not while blocking or waiting on board; it does not make every Ephemeral ally permanent.

The Beast Within

All allies gain Overwhelm, and allies with subtypes also gain +1|+1. The Power works before your champion is drawn. Growing attack on disposable units matters much more when a small blocker cannot absorb it all. All three are Epic; level 30 opens the third Rare slot, and each slot then needs an epic upgrade.

How to play

Use the early mana to establish attackers and keep something that can block. At six stars, your first unit play each round produces an Ephemeral copy attacking, so choose that first play deliberately. A cheap unit can start the damage engine while you save the expensive champion for a later finishing attack.

Spend Onslaught of Shadows when its attackers can connect through Overwhelm or contribute to the next power increase. The three-star effect grows Ephemeral allies Everywhere when they attack, so repeated attacks improve future copies as well as the current board.

Attack with your opening Shark Chariot when useful. Once it has died, later Ephemeral attacks can bring it back attacking; a living Shark is not automatically pulled into every free attack from the bench. When you finally deploy Hecarim, his Foil-protected attacks can lead a large finishing swing. Keep a blocker or removal for the enemy's reply if the attack does not end the encounter.

Drafting and alternatives

Draft cheap units that make good first plays and ways to start more Ephemeral attacks. Draw helps you find either the champion or the recurring attackers. Avoid a hand of expensive cards that cannot use your first-play trigger early enough.

Disciple of Shadows can replace the Glaive when you lack it and need cheaper champion deployment, but its allied damage changes which blockers remain. For a different permanent-stat plan with Spectral Scissors and Corrupted Star Fragment, see his other guide. Team Overwhelm remains valuable whichever carrier you choose; it functions even when the main champion stays in your deck.

Star-power checkpoint

Rampage at six stars creates the attacking copy of the first unit you play each round. That is the free-attack engine used here. Devastating Charge II grows Ephemeral allies Everywhere from their attacks, and Onslaught of Shadows supplies the recurring Ephemeral spell and starting mana. Lower-star decks can equip the same relics but do not have the first-play attacking copies.
