Spend mana on removal to upgrade Tech allies, then consume spare turrets to make room and strengthen the champion.
At a glance
Overview
Reach
Heimerdinger, keep spending mana on useful spells and turn spare turrets into champion stats. The all-Rare loadout gives you repeatable removal and a way to free board space without needing the signature-and-Disciple setup.
The three-star improved Tech-upgrade pool is the baseline. You still have to survive the opening, pay for the champion and accumulate actual spell spending. These relics don't provide his signature's Tech subtype or the sixth-star opening upgrades.
The build
Chemtech Duplicator
At six mana gems, a played spell is copied with the same targets. This improves appropriate spell effects, but the copy doesn't mean you spent the original spell's mana cost a second time for the Tech upgrade counter.
Arcane Comet
Round Start supplies a
Fleeting
Falling Comet. Its six-mana cost contributes real spell spending, and
Obliterate can answer a unit or
Landmark that ordinary damage cannot. Duplicating it keeps the same target; it doesn't let you remove a different second enemy.
Corrupted Star Fragment
Support kills the ally to the champion's right and transfers its stats and keywords to him. A disposable turret can open a slot for a more useful new turret. The champion doesn't need the Tech subtype to use this support effect.
Play toward a stable board
Keep early bodies and an appropriate removal spell.
Conchologist can supply another answer, while
Aftershock offers a useful removal option from the starting deck. Summoning units refills spell mana through the two-star power, so don't waste all those refills against an already full spell-mana bank.
Once the champion is established, choose spells for the current board rather than casting the biggest available spell blindly. Track mana actually spent toward the next upgrade. Free turrets help refill spell mana when summoned, but playing a free turret is not itself six mana of spell spending.
Before attacking, put an expendable ally immediately right of the champion. Check the sacrifice and remaining defenders carefully: consuming a blocker can expose the Nexus on the next turn. Hold a board slot when your next spell will create a turret you want to play.
Drafting and spell choices
Prioritize affordable defense, spell mana and spells that solve the encounter. At six gems, copied damage or buffs can be valuable; against a target that must be
Obliterate, one successful removal may be enough even if the duplicated cast has no further effect.
Tech upgrades benefit Tech allies according to the star power. The ordinary champion in this loadout isn't automatically Tech. Don't budget his survivability around upgrades that only apply to your turrets and other Tech units.
Avoid adding more expensive spells than the deck can cast. You need action efficiency and survival, not simply a hand full of
Fleeting removal that expires unused.
Getting started and upgrading
All three relics are in the Rare pool, including Silver Reliquaries and the higher vault sources on their pages. The third Rare slot requires champion level thirty.
The existing Epic build offers earlier deployment and the signature's benefits. This rare setup trades that acceleration for a turret-consumption attack plan. Against fast enemies, value early defense more highly: the duplicator's six-gem effect cannot rescue an opening that has already lost.
