Janna: Searing draw and Chosen growth
Janna · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14
Cycle discounted champion spells, turn created-card plays into a larger champion and finish through
Overwhelm.
Build
Overview
Keep drawing and playing discounted cards, lowering the cost of cards still in the deck while growing your board.
Searing Brilliance adds marked spells,
Echoing Spirit supplies champion-spell access and
Chosen by the Stars turns created-card chains into a larger finisher.
It's her most popular combination in 10★ clears and guide builds. Compared with the rare-relic Chemtech guide, it trades late mana-gem duplication and
Deathless for earlier cycling and a champion that can gain
Overwhelm. The opening can still be
Vulnerable while you establish the discounts.
The build
Echoing Spirit
Add seven champion copies at Game Start and discount champion spells by one. Extra copies become her champion spell while she is in play, providing targeted attack and two draws. Copies already in your deck can receive the star power's deck discounts; a newly created card in hand has not automatically received those earlier reductions.
Searing Brilliance
At Game Start, mark a random spell with
Mark of Medarda and add four copies. The cost reduction and draw can sustain your engine, especially on a cheap spell that replaces itself. It is random, so inspect the marked target rather than assuming you received the best one.
Chosen by the Stars
Fated rewards an allied target once per round;
Augment rewards created-card plays. At ten attack, Empowered gives
Challenger,
Overwhelm and
Regeneration. The champion spell can support both targeting and draw, but not every spell you play targets the champion. Level 30 and three Epic upgrades equip the trio.
How to play
Keep affordable units and useful discounted cards.
Forge Chief provides a body and spell-mana access, and
Ballistic Bot supplies created-card fuel. Develop enough defense to avoid spending the whole opening cycling while the enemy attacks an empty board.
Play
Janna when you can use her Updraft and subsequent draws. Play discounted cards to reduce the top two cards' costs at three stars, then use draw to reach those cards. Her champion spell's targeting can trigger
Fated, while its draws help find more cheap plays.
At level two,
Howling Gale has
Grifter's Deck. If it receives the mark, replenishing copies and drawing cards can make a long spell chain possible. Its Burst-speed bonus upgrade changes when you can use it; without that upgrade, do not plan it as a Burst response. Check your real mana, targets and card supply before declaring an infinite.
Drafting and alternatives
Favor useful discounted spells, draw, early bodies and protection. Cutting an unhelpful spell makes a future battle's random mark more predictable, but keep enough removal and defense for the adventure.
Black Shield replacing Chosen protects your board, while
Deck of Destiny supplies another created-card plan. The original
Chemtech Duplicator setup needs six mana gems before copying spells. It can be useful in longer fights, but it should not dictate an opening that your faster engine cannot survive.
Star-power checkpoint
Three-star
What's Updraft? II discounts the top two cards after a cost-reduced play, and two-star
Eye of the Storm supplies mana and weakest-ally growth. Four-star
Higher Education adds temporary team attack per draw. Six-star
Winds of Change adds the high-attack champion-and-Bird Updraft finish; the Chosen
Overwhelm plan works without that later upgrade.
