Kayle: protected buffs and team Overwhelm

Kayle · from the PoC community · 2026-10-14

Double spell buffs, pass their stats to another ally in hand and turn a protected wide board into an Overwhelm finish.

Build

Needs 3★Champion level 30

Overview

Build the board before committing your expensive champion. Secret Technique makes spell buffs larger, Black Shield protects summoned allies and The Beast Within lets the team convert growing stats into Nexus damage.

It's her highest-voted player build. Compared with the Hymn guide, it trades a large champion-centered buff and starting-mana relic for protection and Overwhelm that help your early units too. It has less mana assistance, so the opening needs care.

The build

Secret Technique

Allied stat gains from spells are doubled. Blessing of Targon therefore grants a larger buff, and three-star sharing passes the gained stats to another ally in hand. The sharing power is not another spell to count as an automatic extra doubling.

Black Shield

Summoned allies receive Spellshield, giving your buff targets protection from an enemy spell or skill. It does not prevent combat damage or stop every later effect once the shield has been consumed.

The Beast Within

Allies have Overwhelm, and those with a subtype have +1|+1. Overwhelm helps followers contribute instead of leaving all finishing work to the champion. Its continuous stat aura is not a new spell buff or stat grant that repeatedly triggers sharing. Level 30 and three Epic slot upgrades equip the full build.

How to play

Keep affordable units and an early buff. Gift Giver supplies a cheap body and buff access; Solari Shieldbearer can defend while you prepare a lasting attacker. Keep an ally in hand when you want to direct the shared stat gain there; otherwise the power uses the top ally of the deck.

Use Shield Vault to buff your board while controlling a dangerous enemy, and Mikhael's Blessing when its healing and buff matter. Attack with increased-power units when profitable, building Kayle's own attack bonus before she arrives.

Do not spend all your mana on a five-cost champion into a losing board just because she is in hand. Develop a useful follower and buff it when that keeps you alive. After the champion reaches her level-up requirement, remember that her level-up checks at Round Start; gaining the stats during combat does not make that check happen immediately.

Drafting and alternatives

Take efficient buffs, cheap blockers, healing and mana. Spellshield helps preserve a good board, but repeated early attacks can still Overwhelm the opening. Avoid replacing affordable defense with expensive finishers you cannot play yet.

Hymn of Valor creates a large spell-buff payoff, as in her other guide. Hidden Tome restores spell mana on champion play or level-up. Either can replace Beast when your units already have enough ways through blockers. Starfire Spellblade supplies its champion-specific starting mana, making it a different opening plan rather than a required component of this trio.

Star-power checkpoint

Three-star Shared Blessings II passes the actual stat gain to a random ally in hand, or the top ally of the deck. Two-star Celestial Aid generates Blessing of Targon and supplies starting mana. Six-star Day of Judgement adds entry damage or strikes, but the shared-buff and team-Overwhelm plan does not require it.
