Yasuo: turn stun damage into a Puffcap finish
Yasuo · from community builds · 2026-10-18
Accelerate the champion, keep a supply of
Stun spells and plant Puffcaps whenever he deals damage.
At a glance
Overview
Keep
Yasuo in play, damage enemies through
Stun and
Recall, and let that damage plant
Poison Puffcap traps in the enemy deck. This supplies another route to Nexus damage while you control the board.
The loadout gives up the usual level-up stun and keyword-collection package for starting mana, champion-spell access and traps. The six-star version adds the end-of-round
Recall, but the basic damage-to-traps interaction also works before that upgrade. It is a control variation, not a guaranteed immediate mill or one-attack finish.
The build
Yasuo's Windblade
Its Power grants the named champion an extra starting mana and increases the cost of enemies you
Recall. More starting mana helps you reach the champion sooner; it doesn't directly draw him or provide a
Stun by itself.
Echoing Spirit
Extra champion copies improve access to the engine and supply cheaper champion spells while the bearer remains in play. Those spells can keep the defensive control going, but the relic doesn't guarantee a particular opening hand.
Mischiefmaker's Flute
Gives
Spellshield and plants traps equal to damage the bearer deals. The damage can come from his own triggered effect, not only combat. Zero damage or damage prevented entirely won't supply the same trap payoff.
Establish the champion safely
Mulligan for the champion, affordable defense and relevant
Stun access.
Concussive Palm both
Stun a threat and supplies a defender, while
Steel Tempest needs an attacking enemy as its target. Don't spend every answer before the champion can benefit unless survival requires it.
Before leveling, his
Stun/
Recall response deals two damage. Once leveled, it becomes a strike, which can grow through the two-star strike Power. The level-up still needs five actual
Stun or
Recall; an early champion entry isn't automatically a level-up.
With the separately owned
Manaflow node plus the Windblade, the starting mana can reach four. Without that node, plan for the smaller opening. The build's main cards need to match the constellation nodes actually owned, rather than assuming six stars includes every other purchase.
Keep control while traps accumulate
Use the champion spell when an enemy attack needs stopping and when your hand can handle its draw. Repeated damage plants more traps, but they are spread through the enemy deck and only become damage when the relevant cards are drawn. Don't count every planted trap as damage already dealt to the Nexus.
The sixth-star power
Recall
Stun enemies at Round End. With the champion still present, that provides another relevant control event and can make future enemy Plays more expensive through the Windblade. Some enemies have dangerous replay effects or their own cost rules, so inspect what you are returning instead of treating every
Recall as permanent removal.
Spellshield helps against one eligible enemy spell or
Skill. It doesn't stop every removal method or make the champion safe to block an arbitrarily large attacker. Keep defending the Nexus while the trap route takes time to resolve.
Drafting and switching plans
Favor affordable
Stun, useful
Recall, mana and champion protection. A draw-heavy hand can overflow, and long fights can exhaust your own deck, so cast for a purpose rather than cycling spells indefinitely.
The Windblade and Flute use their listed Glory Store/bundle sources, while Echoing comes from Gold Reliquaries. This is a three-Epic setup. If you lack the trap relic or need the immediate board
Stun, the existing Rare control guide offers a more direct combat window.
Frostbite and damage reduction also shrink the damage that would have planted traps.
